What you do

Why this role is different
You will be trading one of the first Vehicle-to-Grid and fastes growing BESS portfolios in Europe - at the intersection of energy markets, battery storage and connected EVs. This isn't a desk where strategies have been running on autopilot for years. You'll build, test and steer algorithmic bidding logic across Day-Ahead, Intraday and reserve markets, and you'll see the direct impact of your decisions on a live and fast growing 500+ MW portfolio across four countries.
If you want to work on problems that most trading desks won't face for another decade, this is the place.

• Developing, refining and live-steering algorithmic bidding strategies across our Automotive and Stationary portfolios
• Executing fully automated trades in DA, ID, reserve markets (FCR, aFRR, mFRR) and other flex markets via proprietary tools and PowerBot
• Managing positions continuously - SoC optimisation, aggregation/disaggregation, cross-market arbitrage
• Monitoring and adapting strategies to shifting market regimes, price signals and asset availability
• Working closely with Quants, Analysts and the Tech team on backtesting, research and tool deployment
• Contributing to the ongoing development of our internal Trading Position Management System
• Pushing our automated trading environment further - manual interventions are the exception, not the norm

Who you are

• Several years of experience as a trader in energy markets - BESS, flexibility trading, or comparable markets (banks, insurance, crypto welcome)
• Strong understanding of option structures, algorithmic trading and multi-market optimisation across spot and reserve markets
• Solid Python skills - you write code, not just read it
• Strong quantitative mindset: backtesting, data analysis, thinking in distributions
• Clear P&L ownership and genuine risk awareness (you know the difference between a calculated bet and a mistake)
• Fluent English and German is a plus
