THE TEAM AND YOUR ROLE
As a Forward Deployed Engineering Lead (all genders) for clinical software solutions, you take on a strategic and leadership role at the intersection of sales, technology, and hospital operations.
You are responsible for leading and developing the Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) function, while ensuring the delivery of scalable, high-quality, and customer-centric solutions. You work closely with sales, engineering, product, and project teams, and act as a trusted technical advisor to both internal stakeholders and enterprise customers.
From early sales engagements to complex implementations, you ensure technical excellence, alignment, and long-term success of our clinical software solutions.
YOUR TASKS
Lead and develop the FDE team, including mentoring, hiring, and performance management
Own solution architecture across key projects and strategic customers
Act as technical authority in complex sales cycles and high-impact deals
Design scalable architectures, APIs, and integrations end-to-end
Align closely with sales, product, engineering, and DevOps
Translate clinical, administrative, and technical requirements into robust solutions
Serve as trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders (e.g. CIOs, IT leads)
Lead and support technical aspects of public and private tenders
Identify risks, trade-offs, and ensure long-term solution quality and scalability
Define and evolve architecture standards, best practices, and reusable patterns
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
Extensive experience in solution architecture, ideally in complex B2B / enterprise environments
Strong expertise in system architecture, APIs, and integration design
Deep understanding of IT infrastructure (cloud, on-premise, networking, security, VPN, etc.)
Experience with clinical or hospital IT systems is a strong plus
Proven experience in leading or mentoring technical teams
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Fluent German (must-have) and strong English skills
