As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll leverage your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to process and resolve mechanical problems, design and implement custom mechanical tooling and associated processes, and enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications. You will oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations-- and you'll coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects, identifying sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.\n

About the Role:
\nWe are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) with a strong foundation in precision machining and design for manufacturability. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on shop floor experience in high-tech manufacturing environments and a deep understanding of mechanical design principles, including GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.

Lead mechanical design projects from concept through to product release.
\n

Develop designs optimized for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
\n

Apply advanced GD&T principles and perform tolerance stack analyses.
\n
- \n

Collaborate closely with vendors and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, quality, and cost effectiveness.
\n
- \n
- \n
Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools.
\n
- \n
- \n
Support prototype development and testing, incorporating feedback into design iterations.
\n
- \n
- \n
Participate in design reviews and cross-functional team meetings.
\n

Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
\n
Required Qualifications & Experience:
\n- \n
- \n
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
\n
- \n
- \n
Minimum 5 years of combined practical and theoretical experience in mechanical design and manufacturing.
\n
- \n
- \n
Strong expertise in precision machining and familiarity with a wide range of manufacturing processes including:

- \n
Turning, milling, welding, electro-erosion, polishing, etc.
\n
- \n
- \n
Proven experience in design for manufacturability and cost optimization .
\n
- \n
- \n
Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up .
\n
- \n
- \n
Hands-on experience in high-tech manufacturing environments , preferably involving precision mechanics and diverse materials.
\n
- \n
- \n
Demonstrated success in vendor collaboration and project completion to product release.
\n
- \n
- \n
Fluent in English , with good proficiency in German .
\n
Preferred Skills:

Experience with PLM systems and engineering change processes.
\n

Familiarity with ISO standards and quality systems.
\n

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
