Social Media and E-Commerce specialist - ION (m/w/d)

Intro

We are looking for a Social Media Specialist with proven experience on Meta and YouTube as well as E-Commerce, to join the ION marketing team. ION develops premium water sports equipment for the international surf, kite, and foil community, as well as high‑quality apparel. This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape our digital presence and elevate it to the next level.

Deine Aufgaben

The position will take full ownership of ION’s social media channels as well as the performance of the ION online shop. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with ION’s brand goals and objectives.
• Managing all operational aspects of our social media channels
• Creating, curating, and scheduling engaging content across platforms — including text, imagery, video, and interactive formats.
• Collaborating with external videographers and creative designers to brief, refine, and finalize visual assets
• Using social media analytics tools to evaluate campaign performance, track key KPIs, and deliver actionable insights for continuous optimization.
• Conceptualizing, setting up, and monitoring strategic full‑funnel paid advertising campaigns in Meta Business Suite and on YouTube — ensuring that all initiatives are thoughtfully developed, audience‑segmented, and seamlessly integrated into the overarching marketing strategy.
• Working closely with the Performance Marketing team regarding Google advertising initiatives
• Taking responsibility for the performance of the ION online shop by using tools such as Klaviyo and Shopify to plan, manage, and optimize e-commerce campaigns.

This is scheduled to start on July 1st, 2026. The position is based in Oberhaching, Germany. We offer a hybrid work model, with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. The position is a fixed-term contract to start with.

Dein Profil

• Digital native with deep knowledge on platforms, tools & trends that is always up to date
• Strong understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices
• Bachelor's degree or similar education in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
• Proven experience (3+ years) in (paid) social media management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus
• Creative mindset with the ability to develop innovative and engaging content
• Analytical skills to interpret data and derive actionable insights
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Strong identification within water action sports and an existing network in the industry are significant advantages.
