The role of Director Optimization Architect (m/f/d) – Fleet Purchase & Sales is a unique opportunity to make a significant business impact at SIXT. You will be working with a fleet of 200,000 vehicles and transforming complex data into scalable, faster, and better decisions. Equipped with advanced technology and full access to business experts and management, your contributions will directly support key stakeholders in Vehicle Purchase and Vehicle Sales. This senior individual contributor position offers end-to-end ownership of critical topics with strong functional leadership across stakeholders, based at our headquarters in Pullach close to Munich. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

• You lead high-impact initiatives by identifying and prioritizing fleet optimization topics with the highest business value 
•  You take end-to-end ownership from problem framing through implementation to measurable business outcomes 
• You focus on balancing sophistication, speed, and business value to deliver pragmatic, outcome-driven solutions 
• You build and own our fleet optimization tool, refining it into the gold standard in collaboration with Demand Management and Operations 
• You bring your data science expertise to the business, enabling the department to develop robust optimization models 
• You manage our central data science collaboration to deploy resources effectively for complex challenges

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

• Hands-On Approach  You take end-to-end responsibility — from problem framing to implementation to measurable business outcomes — and do so yourself 
• Business Impact Mindset  You think in outcomes, not in models for their own sake. You know how to balance sophistication, speed, data availability, and business value, and you are pragmatic in choosing the right solution for the problem 
• Background and Experience  You bring a degree and deep experience in statistics, optimization, and data-driven problem solving, ideally in mobility, logistics, operations, revenue management, or similarly complex business environments. You have advanced skills in Python and SQL and are comfortable turning analytical logic into reliable, scalable solutions that can be used in production 
• Applied AI Skills  You are experienced in using AI as a practical tool to improve analysis, decision systems, workflows, or products — and you know where AI adds real value and where simpler approaches are the better choice 
• Language  You communicate fluently in English; German is a plus
