Senior IDM Test Engineer (m/f/x)

Introduction

We are looking for you as an experienced IDM Test Engineer (m/f/d) to join our growing team in Leipzig.

Tasks

• You develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on predefined requirements and design documents.

• You execute test case scenarios to validate the functionality, performance, and security of IAM systems and applications; this includes manual tests as well as the use of test automation tools where applicable.

• You identify and document software defects, track their status, and collaborate with the development teams for timely resolution.

• You configure and maintain the necessary test environments (servers, databases, network configurations, and user roles) to simulate realistic scenarios.

• You collaborate with cross-functional teams — including developers, business analysts, and project managers — to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and to provide precise reporting on test progress and emerging issues.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed degree in (Business) Informatics, vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration/Application Development, or a comparable qualification
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues occurring during IDM testing
• Ability to develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases
• Knowledge of test effort estimation, risk assessment, and prioritization
• Experience in various testing techniques such as functional tests, integration tests, performance tests, and security tests
• Exposure to modern infrastructure, e.g., Kubernetes and container technologies
• Understanding of Identity Management (IDM) concepts and principles, including user provisioning, user lifecycle management, role-based access control (RBAC), identity synchronization, and password management
• Sound experience in analyzing log files as well as effective troubleshooting and debugging in IDM systems
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers
• Experience with identity management applications such as midPoint or similar solutions is an advantage
• Fluent in German and English
