What you'll bring

You are an experienced Application Engineering Expert with a strong track record of designing secure, scalable, enterprise-grade applications and integration architectures. You combine deep expertise in distributed systems with a passion for solving complex integration challenges and connecting healthcare systems with the SAP portfolio. You embrace modern AI capabilities to accelerate product innovation, improve engineering productivity, and build intelligent application capabilities where they create meaningful customer value. As a recognized technical leader, you influence engineering strategy, mentor engineers, and guide architectural decisions across teams and products.

 

You bring proven expertise in healthcare interoperability , including HL7® FHIR® , and experience designing enterprise integration architectures for healthcare systems. Experience with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) , Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and healthcare integration platforms is expected. Experience designing integration solutions between HIS and enterprise business applications, supported by a good understanding of business processes across Human Capital Management, Procurement, Spend Management, Finance, and Supply Chain, is highly desirable. Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is an advantage.

 

 

What you'll build

You’ll define the technical direction for secure, scalable interoperability between Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and the SAP portfolio, helping healthcare providers seamlessly connect clinical and business processes across the enterprise. Working closely with strategic customers and partners in Germany, you'll shape solution architectures, guide complex integration initiatives, and transform customer requirements into reusable product capabilities.

 

You’ll lead the realization of interoperability scenarios based on the HL7® FHIR® standard while driving the evolution of SAP's healthcare integration capabilities. Through close collaboration with customers, implementation partners, and innovative healthcare organizations, you'll help shape the future of connected healthcare and influence the direction of SAP's healthcare solutions.

 

You’ll establish engineering standards and architectural best practices that improve scalability, reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence across the product landscape. You'll embrace modern AI capabilities to improve engineering productivity, accelerate product innovation, and enable intelligent application capabilities where they deliver measurable customer value.

 

 

Where you belong

You’ll provide technical leadership across teams and domains, mentoring engineers and promoting engineering excellence through architectural guidance, design reviews, technical standards, and knowledge sharing.

 

Working closely with the  Engineering team in Bangalore and the Product Management team in Munich and Walldorf , you'll serve as the technical authority for healthcare interoperability, acting as the bridge between engineering, product management, customers, implementation partners, and the broader SAP engineering organization. You'll influence product strategy, guide complex customer engagements, and ensure customer needs are translated into scalable, reusable product capabilities.

 

This role offers the opportunity to shape the technical direction of SAP's healthcare interoperability portfolio while working with leading healthcare providers, strategic partners, and innovative healthcare organizations to define the next generation of connected healthcare solutions.
