Senior AI & Data Strategy Lead (f/m/x)

As part of BMW Group’s AI leadership function, we define the strategic direction for Data & AI across the company and translate global technology trends into concrete, value-generating initiatives. Together with top management, business functions, and BMW Group IT, we shape the AI agenda, set priorities, and ensure execution with measurable business impact.

What awaits you?

• You define and continuously refine the BMW Group’s AI and Data strategy, aligning it with corporate objectives and global technology trends.
• You analyse global AI, data, and digitalisation trends and assess their relevance and impact on BMW’s business, products, and operations.
• You translate strategic insights into committed action plans, roadmaps, and investment priorities with clear ownership and KPIs.
• You identify, structure, and prioritise high-impact AI initiatives across functions and divisions, ensuring focus on business value and scalability.
• You act as a trusted strategic adviser to senior stakeholders, aligning management, business units, and IT around shared AI goals.
• You steer cross-functional initiatives from strategy definition to execution readiness, ensuring sustainable transfer into line organisations.
• You establish governance, success metrics, and decision frameworks to track progress and business impact of AI initiatives.

What should you bring along?

• A university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or a comparable field.
• At least five years of professional experience in AI, data, digital strategy, or technology-driven transformation within a complex organisation.
• A proven track record of understanding global AI business and technology trends and translating them into concrete, committed action plans.
• Demonstrated success in driving AI or data initiatives with significant, measurable business impact.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and conceptual skills combined with the ability to operate effectively in executive-level environments. A highly analytical and consultative mindset with structured problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of modern AI technologies and their opportunities and limitations from a business perspective. Experienced in working across organisational boundaries and aligning diverse stakeholders behind a common strategy.
• Very good written and spoken English skills. Knowledge of German, both written and spoken, is an advantage.
