(Senior) Embedded Software Engineer

Your mission

We're looking for an experienced and curious Embedded Software Engineer to join our Product & Engineering team. At Seroton, we create hardware you can feel with your body. We transform sound, meditation, and breath into physical sensations , delivered through furniture people already sit and lie on. As our Embedded Software Engineer, you'll own the firmware that brings this experience to life . In this role, you'll take ownership of our firmware and embedded systems - the core layer that powers Seroton's unique relaxation experience.

You’ll work closely with the Co-Founder and collaborate with Hardware, Production, Mobile Engineering and Product Experience. Part of a small, ambitious startup, you’ll have real impact from day one - shaping not just how our hardware works, but how our users feel. If you enjoy building thoughtful products, working hands-on with hardware, and turning firmware into real, physical experiences, this role is for you.

Your responsibilities

• Own Seroton’s embedded firmware stack end-to-end, from prototyping to testing to release and iteration
• Design and optimize embedded software for microcontroller-based systems with a focus on reliability and performance
• Develop and refine open- and closed-loop control systems for haptic and pneumatic actuation
• Build deep expertise in our SMA-based hardware and continuously improve system behavior
• Implement real-time sensor processing to enable interactive, user-facing experiences

Your profile

• Several years of experience in embedded software development on real, shipped products
• Strong C/C++ on resource-constrained microcontrollers; real-time thinking, RTOS experience
• Experience in control engineering (PID and beyond), actuator or pneumatics work, BLE, or embedded signal processing
• Comfort working at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and digital products
• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset - comfortable with ownership, ambiguity, and fast iteration Curiosity for new technologies and digital product development
• A passion for building and creating, with confidence using AI tools in your daily workflow and orchestrating agents in order to increase product impact
• Clear communication skills and enjoyment of cross-functional collaboration
