Founder’s Associate (m/f/d)

Custom Surgical is a fast-growing AI-powered medical technology startup transforming the future of eye care through advanced 3D visualization and intelligent Computer Aided Diagnosis systems. Tasks

As a Founder’s Associate (Working Student) , you will work directly with the CEO and support strategic, operational, and cross-functional projects at C-level.

This role is especially suited for students interested in entrepreneurship and startup leadership. You will gain first-hand exposure to how a company is built from the inside — how founders think, prioritize, and make decisions under uncertainty.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with strategic and C-level projects (product, growth, operations, fundraising, partnerships)
• Prepare presentations, analyses, and decision-support materials
• Conduct research to support strategic decisions
• Follow up on action items from leadership and executive meetings
• Take ownership of small projects and drive them independently
• Gain exposure to real founder-level challenges and trade-offs

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled as a Bachelor’s or Master’s student
• Strong interest in entrepreneurship, startups, or building companies
• Curious, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity
• Structured thinker with strong analytical skills
• Able to work independently and take responsibility
• Strong communication skills (English required, German is a plus)
• Availability to commit 20 hours per week for at least 6 months
• Flexible schedule that adapts to your university agenda
