Senior Solutions Architect

In this position, you will be a key member in the Pre-sales process, working with the Account Executives and designing AWS solutions for our startup customers.

What does success look like in your first year? You'll have owned end-to-end pre-sales engagements, built trust with startup customers, and become the go-to technical voice for our Germany-based accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with customers, understand their business challenges, and design AWS solutions that address them, covering architecture, cost-efficiency, scalability, and security through Statements of Work (SOW)
• Analyze existing customer AWS architectures and propose improvement roadmaps
• Collaborate with cross-team with different departments to ensure solutions are designed according to AWS best practices
• Build thought leadership in the cloud community by contributing to blogs, workshops, webinars, conferences, and more, representing Automat-it as a trusted voice in the ecosystem
• Travel both locally (to meet with customers, partners, and attend local events) and abroad (at least once a quarter)

What Success Looks Like in Year One:

• Customers consistently receive well-structured AWS architectures (SOWs, HLDs) that are scalable, cost-efficient, and production-ready
• Pre-sales support is a recognised strength, with direct impact on pipeline quality alongside the account management team
• You have represented Automat-it externally in at least one workshop, webinar, or conference, adding visibility to the brand
• Built and nurtured strong relationships within the AWS community, including startup teams and leadership, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years of experience in an AWS environment, designing solutions end-to-end
• 2+ years of experience in a technical customer-facing role such as Solutions Architect, Cloud Architect, Solutions Engineer, Customer Engineer, Presales Engineer, SRE, or equivalent
• In-depth knowledge of AWS's main services, with an emphasis on Kubernetes and Containers
• Experience designing infrastructure for high-scale production environments in AWS
• Certified AWS Solutions Architect – Associate
• Ability to effectively communicate technical design in verbal and written formats in front of customers
• Ability to lead an end-to-end engagement with the account management team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German; professional proficiency in English
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

• Experience in an IT environment with hands-on in Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps tools
• Familiarity or expertise with DevOps and CI/CD practices
• Experience in a production environment developing software with Python, Go, Java, or equivalents
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional or a specialty certification
