Software Developer Java (m/f/d)

As a Java Developer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing our mission-critical cash management and logistics platforms. You will contribute to the development of secure, scalable, and high-performance enterprise applications based on Java technologies, with a strong focus on the Spring ecosystem and modern software engineering practices.

In addition, you will help shape the future of software development at G+D by leveraging AI-assisted development tools and approaches. Working closely with your team, you will explore how coding assistants and AI agents can be used effectively, responsibly, and securely to improve productivity, software quality, testing, and documentation.

This role is based in Munich and offers the opportunity to work in a highly international environment. You will collaborate daily with an agile Scrum team primarily located in Gurugram, India, making strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset essential. Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications with a strong focus on security, performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Contribute to technical design decisions, effort estimations, and architectural discussions
• Develop proof-of-concepts to evaluate and validate technical solutions and new technologies
• Collaborate closely with business analysts, testers, support specialists, and fellow developers throughout the software development lifecycle
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues and production incidents
• Apply and promote AI-assisted software development practices, ensuring responsible usage and validation of AI-generated results
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our cross-functional agile team, fostering engineering excellence, built-in quality, test-driven development, security-by-design, and AI-first approaches
• Support knowledge sharing and actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in Java software development
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, EJB, and RESTful APIs
• Experience with enterprise application servers such as WebSphere or JBoss
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, software architecture, and enterprise application development
• Hands-on experience with non-functional requirements, including security, performance optimization, scalability, and automated testing
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, including query optimization and performance tuning
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and a strong understanding of responsible AI usage, security considerations, and result validation
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international environment
