Performance Creative Strategist (all genders)

We are looking for a full-time, permanent Performance Creative Strategist to start as soon as possible. We live remote-first, but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations (Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich).

As our new Performance Creative Strategist, you will own one of the most direct levers of growth at Contabo Group, a profitable, fast-growing European cloud infrastructure provider backed by KKR and Oakley Capital. Across Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube, you will decide which ideas get tested, which assets get built, and which concepts get scaled, giving you real ownership and real impact from day one. You develop and execute creative strategies for every paid channel we run, translating audience insights and funnel data into sharp, performance-driven briefs. From there, you brief and collaborate closely with designers, copywriters, and video producers to bring those concepts to life, and you build the A/B and multivariate testing frameworks that tell us which ones actually win. You read the numbers behind every creative (CTR, CVR, CPA, ROAS), know when to kill a concept and when to scale it, and turn those insights into channel-specific playbooks the whole team can build on. Because we operate in B2B cloud infrastructure, this role comes with its own puzzle: turning technical, often complex value propositions into ad concepts people actually stop scrolling for. You stay close to platform updates, algorithm shifts, and creative trends across every channel we use, and translate all of it into a systematic testing framework rather than gut feeling. You will report directly to our Head of Performance Marketing and work within an international, English-speaking team with a flat hierarchy, where you build creative processes from scratch rather than inheriting a rigid one. As we grow, so does the scope of this role, giving you real visibility and a fast path toward owning creative strategy end to end.

What convinces us

Your personality, paired with:

• Senior track record at the intersection of creative and performance, spanning concepts, ad copy, hooks, and visual direction, with real ownership of creative KPIs, not just campaign KPIs
• Proven experience acting as the creative bridge between performance marketing and creative or product teams, translating offers, product messaging, and campaign goals into platform-ready assets, and briefing designers, copywriters, and UX/UI colleagues with precise, performance-oriented creative briefs
• Hands-on experience producing or closely directing assets for paid social (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn) and video (YouTube, Reels, TikTok), including adapting technical specs to each platform and format
• A strong visual and copy instinct, knowing what stops the scroll and what converts, paired with the ability to write sharp, conversion-driven ad copy from headlines and hooks to CTAs across formats and funnel stages, all backed by solid data analysis
• Deep fluency in creative testing methodology, from A/B and multivariate testing to creative fatigue analysis and iteration cycles, along with the ability to read creative performance independently from overall campaign performance (ad strength, creative excellence scores, CTR, CVR) and turn that into actionable internal benchmarks
• Audience and persona fluency, applying affinity groups, in market segments, and audience insights to creative decisions for each product line and campaign type
• Comfortable managing Google Ads and Meta Ads end to end, including creative setup and optimisation
• Fluent English and comfortable working in an international team

Should have:

• Genuine enthusiasm for platform trends and continuous creative experimentation, combined with a collaborative communication style that keeps cross-functional stakeholders aligned
• A data-driven mindset paired with genuine creative instinct, equally at home in a dashboard and in a brainstorm
• Familiarity with affiliate partner creative requirements and specs

Nice to have:

• Experience in B2B tech, SaaS, or the wider cloud and hosting industry
• A portfolio or reel showcasing past creative work
• German language skills or additional European languages, alongside fluent English
