AOCS/ADCS & Mission Analysis Engineer, m/f/d
Location: Germany / Hybrid Employment type: Full-time Seniority: Junior–mid Function: AOCS/ADCS, GNC, Mission Analysis Project-S is looking for an AOCS/ADCS & Mission Analysis Engineer to support attitude-control analysis, pointing requirements, orbit simulation, payload observation geometry, ADCS/AOCS integration, verification, and commissioning. You will help answer where the spacecraft can point, how accurately, for how long, and how that affects payload performance. What you will do Define pointing accuracy, pointing knowledge, jitter, slew rate, settling time, detumbling, stability, and control-performance requirements. Build pointing budgets, disturbance-torque estimates, momentum budgets, and sensor/actuator performance assumptions. Model payload observation geometry, scan strategies, dwell time, ground tracks, eclipse periods, access windows, and operational constraints. Support orbit and mission-analysis simulations using propagated orbit data and mission timelines. Work with payload, flight software, systems, EPS, TT&C, and operations teams. Prepare ADCS/AOCS test plans, calibration plans, simulation reports, pointing budgets, interface definitions, and commissioning procedures. What we are looking for Background in aerospace engineering, control systems, astrodynamics, robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar. Ability to work with quaternions, rotation matrices, Euler angles, angular rates, reference frames, and coordinate transformations. Understanding of attitude dynamics, disturbance torques, reaction wheels, magnetorquers, wheel saturation, and desaturation. Experience with Python, MATLAB/Simulink, GMAT, STK, Orekit, Basilisk, or similar. Ability to work with TLEs, SGP4 propagation, ground tracks, eclipse periods, beta angle, access windows, and pointing windows. Apply here:
