As a Senior mechanical design engineer, you will be a significant contributor to our mechanical design team and a key player responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of our battery and charger products. With our world-class team, currently >20 team members, you will play a key role in pushing the boundaries of sustainable mobility.
What is your Day-to-Day Mission:
Design & Development: Lead the mechanical design for new products and components using CAD software (Catia v5 is mandatory).
Analysis & Calculations: Perform engineering analyses and calculations for critical design aspects. These include i.e. critical tolerance stack ups, thermal analysis and ultra-lightweight design.
Prototyping & De-Risking: Initiate and support the prototyping and early testing to de- risk the key mechanical concepts and designs
Project Participation: Serve as the technical lead on major projects, coordinating activities with cross-functional teams (Electrical, Manufacturing, Supply chain)
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, BOMs and design review presentations.
Supplier Management: Collaborate with external suppliers and manufacturers to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), ensuring high-quality and cost-effective production.
Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and technical support to less experienced mechanical engineers.
Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality procedures.
What you bring to the team:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development, ideally within a relevant industry (e.g., consumer electronics, aerospace, medical devices, automotive).
Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Catia v5. Proven experience with FEA tools and a strong understanding of material science, thermodynamics, and kinematics.
Core Competencies: Demonstrated ability to take a product from concept through mass production.
Expert knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, casting, stamping).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You already have professional experience in the industry (i.e. UAV, consumer electronics, aerospace, medical devices, automotive)
Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
German language skills are welcome.
