Description

Skyworks is seeking an NPI Senior Principal Engineer to lead and improve the Product Performance and High-Volume Manufacturing Readiness within the SAW Filter New Product / New Technology Group. As a highly skilled and strategic engineer, you will play pivotal role to successfully launch new products meeting Performance, Quality and Time-to-Market. Having affinity with innovative solutions which can be applied throughout development to high-volume manufacturing, you will ensure a seamless coordination across various department in a multicultural environment with teams like R&D Engineers, Device, Process experts, Module Design Team, Program Management and Operations.

Responsibilities

The NPI Senior Principal Engineer will report directly to the head of the SAW Technology Team and drive the overall NPI Setup and Best Practice. You will interact with teams in US, Japan and Singapore. The job will involve the following functions:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive NPI strategy aligned with company’s goal.
• Coordinate Acoustic Modeling, Design and Technology Team to define and improve stacks for best-in-class performance.
• Drive the Product Readiness: Capability, Tolerance Chain Analysis between Process and Product, Reliability at the different stages of technology development to achieve Cpk and yield targets during NPI and Ramp-Up phase.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to all design and technology rules, define technology choice, timelines, milestones and deliverables for new product launch.
• Ensure a smooth transition from product development to production release, coordinating activities across Design, Process, Test, Operations and Module team to meet Quality, Performance and Schedule.
• Identify potential risks and challenges in the NPI process and develop mitigation plans.
• Collaborate and openly debate with team to manage projects, solve problems, discuss challenging issues, and learn more about critical issues as a group.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement in your organization, NPI process and associated department through feedback loops to capture lessons learned from each NPI cycle.
• Report and maintain knowledge on product status to executive leadership by preparing appropriate reports.

Required Experience and Skills

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, RF Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in New Product Introduction / Product Engineering / Design.
• Excellent communication with interpersonal skills and used to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Strong understanding of Product Development, manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
• Experience in the design or product engineering of SAW/BAW filters is required.
• Knowledge in Project Management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, both technical and interpersonal.
• Pragmatic and flexible attitude with a result- and data-driven can-do mentality.
• Works autonomously, well-organized, with a good attention to detail, while setting high standards in all aspects of the work.
