What you`ll do:

Summary:

As an (Junior) AI Developer (f/m/d) for Agentic AI and Emerging Technologies, you'll work at the intersection of cutting-edge research and practical application, translating the latest developments in AI, autonomous systems, and new technologies into functional, validated prototypes with real business impact.

You will join a young and agile team with the freedom to explore new ideas, experiment with the latest tools, and bring your own innovations to life. Working in our collaborative environment, you'll drive agile projects alongside product teams, moving fast from concept to working prototype. Your ability to quickly adapt to market trends, your hands-on engineering skills, and your curious mindset will be key to the team's success in delivering innovations that matter.

The Role:

• Build and iterate on compelling prototypes that demonstrate the potential of emerging technologies in enterprise contexts

• Initiate and guide ideation processes in the team and identify new innovation potentials aligned with our strategic ambition and goals

• Rapidly adapt to new developments in AI and technology, translating research papers and market trends into working implementations

• Collaborate closely with SAP product teams in fast-paced, agile innovation sprints to validate concepts and drive innovation adoption

• Leverage modern AI-assisted development workflows (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to accelerate prototyping and experimentation

• Work with academic partners and research institutions to explore cutting-edge concepts and bridge the gap between theory and practice

• Present your work to stakeholders, at internal showcases, and potentially at external events to demonstrate thought leadership

What you bring:

• University diploma, Master's degree, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields

• Proven track record of applying innovative concepts or research to real-world use cases (academic projects, side projects, or professional work all count)

• Strong programming skills with hands-on experience in:

• • Python or JavaScript ecosystem for AI development (LangGraph, CrewAI, Google ADK, or similar frameworks)

  • Modern frontend development (React, Vue, TypeScript, or similar)

  • AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar)

• Curious and experimental mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, eager to learn, quick to adapt to emerging technologies

• Able to work across the full stack and explore diverse technology domains

• Collaborative and hands-on: thrives in an agile, team-based environment with short iteration cycles

• Strong communication skills in English (German is a plus)

• Plus but not required: Background in academic research, product development, or field experience working with enterprise customers
