Senior Category Manager - Data & Online Services (m/f/d)*
As part of the Global Sourcing Team and reporting to the Global Category Manager for Data & Online Services you will take ownership of strategic procurement initiatives in the subcategories of Financial Data, Insurance Data, Rating Data and all other kinds of data.
You will focus on delivering optimal sourcing solutions that create business value, strengthen supplier relationships, support digital transformation, and ensure compliance with regulatory and risk standards.
In this senior role, you will lead complex, high-spend global projects and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Your Job
- Ensure strategic procurement processes including demand management, tenders, offer evaluations, contract negotiations and implementation
- Support the Global Category Manager in developing sourcing, supplier, and risk strategies, as well as shaping the process value chain
- Ensure alignment and implementation of global procurement strategies across the organization
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal key stakeholders and suppliers
- Influence stakeholders and senior business partners to support and implement sourcing strategies
- Apply deep category and market knowledge to identify opportunities and drive results
- Foster global interaction with the procurement functions within Munich Re Group (e.g. ERGO, MEAG)
- Promote the use of digital procurement tools and improve user satisfaction (e.g. Coupa)
- Ensure all sourcing activities comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate social responsibility standards
- Degree in economics, engineering, supply chain management or a comparable qualification
- Extensive experience in procurement, with a proven track record of leading strategic sourcing and supplier management
- In-depth knowledge of purchasing external data or/and software/SaaS
- Prior experience in Insurance industry preferred in Procurement or Data related roles
- Strong international negotiation and advanced contracting skills for complex sourcing projects
- Experience supporting global strategies across business units and countries
- Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to manage complexity
- Skilled in procurement tools and technologies, such as e-sourcing platforms, AI, and analytics software
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
- Customer-focused and confident working across all levels in an international environment
