Huawei's Heisenberg Research Center in Munich is responsible for advanced technical research, architecture evolution design and strategic technical planning. The privacy team of Cyber Security and Privacy Lab in Huawei's Heisenberg Research Center is developing cutting-edge privacy enhancing technologies, which is designed for supporting privacy and data protection. To support our research activities, we are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Master student to research the topic of Privacy Enhancing Technologies to support us to develop privacy enhancing technologies for future data analytics and artificial intelligence systems.

Your mission

• Analyze privacy risks of target application scenarios

• Support the team to research and develop privacy in the context of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI Agents, which may include creating PETs on top of LLMs, evaluating LLM privacy, and evaluating privacy-utility trade-off in LLMs (replace with AI agents if needed).

• Document and present results.

Your areas of expertise

• Enrolled in a masters in the field of computer science, cybersecurity, privacy, mathematics, or related;

• Research experience in LLM, machine learning and/or artificial intelligence is a plus;

• Passion and capability of finding solutions for complex technological issues;

• Good programming skill in Python or C++ required, other programming languages as a plus;

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills;

• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
