QUALIFICATIONSAcademic degree in e.g. engineering, electrical engineering, physics 8+ years of experience in technology and high tech in both R&D as well as cost related best in well-established and leading companies (TM, telco, AI, advanced electronics, automotive and machinery) A strong background in electronics and high-tech, enabling effective discussions with head engineers on electronic designs, including component, system, and product levelsAbility to challenge system as well as circuit and component design and can conduct even complex electronics and electrical cost calculations including chip die cost estimation Ability to explore and develop opportunities in adjacent topics Ability to guide and coach international junior team members in electronics/high-tech topics; initial “team leader” experiences Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills Proven ability to influence others; ability to effectively collaborate and work in teams Spoken and written ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, in English and the local language WHO YOU'LL WORK WITHDriving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. In this role, you will be an entrepreneur, opening-up new opportunities for client impact and reinventing McKinsey’s approaches. You’ll be responsible for identifying new client opportunities to advise companies on transformational change and capability building. You will advise developing consultants and be an important source of intellectual insight in the field of technology and high tech on client projects, framing technical related business problems in a way that the teams can then execute to drive impact and value. Advising and collaborating with individual project managers, you will be part of the day-to-day problem solving and will bring expertise directly to senior clients and team members alike. You will also work in cooperation with our worldwide network of consultants to shape McKinsey’s thinking in this area, continuously developing your own knowledge as well as that of the firm. You will be based in one of our European offices as part of our Operations Practice within the Product Development Service Line. We assist our clients in solving complex operational challenges. Blending strategic thinking with hands-on practicality, our teams of consultants and experts work to develop and implement operational and technological as well as high tech strategies that solve our clients’ most critical problems. McKinsey’s Product Development service line is committed to helping clients develop products that fit market needs, produce attractive margins, provide platforms for add-on offerings, and enhance the reputation of brands for future business growth.
