Our AI assistants handle bookkeeping, routine workflows, and client communication – dramatically expanding the capacity of tax advisory firms.

Now we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to take real ownership, ship production-ready AI systems, and help scale a mission-critical product.

Tasks

Build and own enterprise-grade AI systems that automate accounting and logistics operations at scale. You'll architect and deploy production AI agents using modern ML frameworks and Python infrastructure, running on cloud-native platforms with real-time document processing and automation capabilities. You feel fluent in transfering concepts with our AI researchers to production.

Core Technologies You'll Work With

AI & ML Frameworks

• Structured LLM programming frameworks for reliable AI agent development
• Multi-provider AI integration supporting major cloud AI services (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Vector databases for production search and retrieval-augmented generation
• Distributed tracing and observability for ML operations monitoring

Backend & API Development

• Python 3.12 with modern async web frameworks for high-performance microservices
• Type-safe data modeling and validation frameworks
• Concurrent processing architectures for handling complex workflows
• Enterprise AI integration patterns and best practices

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps

• Kubernetes orchestration on major cloud platforms
• Cloud-native services : object storage, NoSQL databases, serverless functions, email automation, OCR services
• Container orchestration with security-focused multi-stage builds
• CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and multi-environment deployment strategies

Specialized AI Applications

• Computer vision & automation for legacy system integration
• Intelligent document processing with advanced OCR and semantic analysis
• Knowledge retrieval systems for domain-specific expertise (tax, accounting, compliance)
• Multi-modal AI workflows for email, document, and structured data processing

Technical Responsibilities

Production AI Systems

• Design and implement structured AI agents for automated business process workflows
• Build knowledge retrieval systems for real-time information access and compliance checking
• Develop multi-modal AI pipelines processing diverse data types at enterprise scale
• Optimize AI model performance using advanced prompt engineering and workflow optimization

Full-Stack Development

• Build high-performance API services with comprehensive async support and type safety
• Implement vision-based automation for legacy application integration
• Create real-time document processing pipelines with advanced text extraction and analysis
• Design resilient distributed job processing systems

Infrastructure & Operations

• Deploy containerized applications on managed Kubernetes with multi-stage environments
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using industry-standard tools
• Build automated deployment pipelines with security scanning and validation
• Monitor production systems with comprehensive observability and alerting

Enterprise Integration

• Integrate with European accounting software and compliance systems
• Build automated email processing workflows with intelligent response generation
• Implement enterprise-grade secret management and access controls
• Design multi-tenant cloud architecture with proper security boundaries

Production Impact

You'll be building systems that:

• Process thousands of business documents daily with enterprise-grade accuracy
• Handle real-time communication workflows for logistics and accounting operations
• Automate complex interactions with legacy business applications
• Serve enterprise customers with strict compliance and security requirements
• Scale automatically with intelligent resource optimization

Required Experience

• Advanced Python with modern async frameworks and type systems
• Production ML/AI experience, preferably with LLM applications and vector search
• Container orchestration and cloud-native deployment experience
• Major cloud platform services and infrastructure management
• High-performance web frameworks and API design

Preferred Experience

• Structured AI programming frameworks and prompt optimization
• Computer vision and process automation technologies
• European business software and compliance systems knowledge
• Enterprise security and multi-tenant architecture
• Financial/accounting domain expertise

Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Senior-level experience as a Software Engineer with several years in production environments
• Expert-level Python skills - this is our primary development language
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript proficiency for full-stack development
• Solid AI/GenAI systems background including hands-on AI inference experience
• AWS experience with serverless architectures and cloud-native development
• Infrastructure expertise with Terraform and Kubernetes (K8s)
• DevOps mindset - you build it, you run it philosophy

Technical Experience

• Experience building stable, scalable, and maintainable production systems
• At least one complete product go-live where you were actively involved
• Product launch experience and operating live systems under real user load
• Strong understanding of backend, frontend, and application architecture
• Windows OS session management knowledge for desktop automation workflows
• Java experience is a strong plus for enterprise integrations

Working Style & Collaboration

• Proven experience in sprint planning, refinement, and agile execution
• Highly self-driven, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach
• Ability to identify and resolve impediments independently
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership

Language Requirements

• German language skills at minimum C1 level (spoken & written)
• You will have direct customer contact and need to communicate technical concepts clearly
• English proficiency for technical documentation and international team collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with accounting/financial software systems
• Knowledge of German business compliance requirements
• Background in computer vision or UI automation
• Previous work in regulated industries
