IT-Project Manager (m/f/d)*

Successful candidates must be prepared to relocate to the specified job location in the job posting and will be employed directly under the hiring entity’s contractual terms.

This role will be part of the RI Property & Casualty Tower for Group Technology, responsible for delivering business value by managing IT products and executing change projects for the RI P&C business. The Tower maintains key relationships with units involved in underwriting and claims management, and oversees IT products for Munich Re Trading Limited, which develops risk transfer solutions. Additionally, it collaborates closely with finance and digital innovation teams to combine services and data, supporting the expansion of business use cases.

The section IT Business Solutions RI P&C delivers business value through the management of IT products including execution of change projects. Our team owns and manages the key relationships with Munich Re's global Non-Life Reinsurance business units, including Underwriting and Claims Management, representing the full spectrum of IT service functions.

To complement our team of recognized IT experts, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual. You will help to grow our global Claims application landscape together with the business in a highly changing IT landscape. This position will be located in Munich.

Your Job

• Responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation & satisfactory completion of medium- or large-scale IT projects according to agile methodologies (Scrum/SAFe).
• Acting as Agile Coach / Project Manager for an agile development team including coordination/handling of the project backlog.
• Accountability for creation of project charters and effort estimations within the scoping and budget approval process.
• Initialization of IT projects according to approved project charters and particularly manage the staffing of the project team.
• Transparent and consistent communication with the project stakeholders in Business and IT and achieving alignment with neighboring projects.
• Accountability for project budget and reporting and delivery of project goals in time and budget.
• Identification, assessment and management of risks and issues to the success of the project.

Your Profile

• Several years of experience in IT project management, preferably in application development and hence in-depth knowledge of the processes of the entire software development and product life cycle.
• Demonstrable experience in agile project management methodologies like Scrum.
• Excellent communication skills, strong experience in the management of diverging interests of various stakeholders, ability to set priorities in a pragmatic and efficient way combined with profound cost consciousness.
• Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business, resulting in measurable business outcomes.
• Consulting and collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing.
• High degree of commitment and the willingness and ability to master the various tasks are essential.
• Good understanding of RI and/or Claims core business processes.
• Experience with Azure DevOps (Boards, Backlogs, etc. ) or similar tools.
• University degree, preferably in Computer engineering / IT or similar qualification.
• Willingness to work regularly from the office and collaborate in person with colleagues (~ 3 days per week).
• Fluent command of German (nice to have) and Business English.
