Agentic AI Engineer (f/m/x)

We are a central technology team specializing in AI, Generative AI, and Generative Design, responsible for identifying, industrializing and scaling new technologies in practical use cases. We combine openness, pioneering spirit and implementation strength to actively shape the future of BMW.

What awaits you?

• You will take technical responsibility for complex, cross-functional AI initiatives – from requirements analysis through to implementation.
• Furthermore, you will independently identify, evaluate, and manage AI-related projects.
• You will design and develop end-to-end, scalable AI systems to enable the efficient industrialization of customer projects, with a particular focus on Generative AI.
• Moreover, you will work closely with internal IT units, business departments, and cross-functional partners.
• You coordinate and manage collaboration with internal and external partners.
• You will foster cultural change by coaching, empowering, and inspiring colleagues from diverse disciplines and support the evaluation of emerging technologies and contribute to shaping the company’s technology roadmap.

What should you bring along?

• University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics or comparable field.
• At least 3 years of practical experience in software development with Python (e.g., through internships, working student positions or thesis projects).
• At least 2 years of experience in implementing and industrializing AI solutions, including at least one major open-source framework (e.g. LangChain, Pytorch), e.g., through internships, working student positions or thesis projects.
• Strong methodological expertise in at least two of the following areas: Generative AI, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, MLOps or platform development.
• Hands-on experience in data engineering, including building and managing database systems and data pipelines.
• Proficiency in software development best practices such as clean code principles, object-oriented programming, DevOps and testing; experience in AWS or Azure is a plus.
